April 2020 Scripture Plan : Scriptures for Fear and Worrying

Hey, y'all!  It has been a while since our last chat.  I pray that you are all in good health!  I wanted to send you some encouragement, because with all that is going on in the world with COVID-19, there's a lot of fear and worrying that has been stirred up.  I put together this scripture plan for you to find comfort in the Lord's Word.  Please join me as I read a verse or two in Psalms each day.  Read and pray daily for a peace that only God can give.  I love you all and hope you find comfort in these scriptures.

Life Chat

Hey, y’all!  It has been a little while since I’ve posted a chatty post.  I really thought I would be doing a lot of writing this summer however our entire summer has been so full. We’ve had family come into town, church events, house repairs, and the most time consuming, yet, most exciting is that my older son started his own business. So, I have been busier than I expected this summer, therefore, causing me to neglect my blog.  I appreciate y’all for being so patient with me as I open up this new chapter of life, being the mom of an entrepreneur.   Just when I thought I had a good routine down it changed, again! -Insert my sigh here- LOL

Funny Facts About My Mom

Do you remember being young talking with your siblings about your parents?  Not gossiping about them, but laughing about their funny habits.  Well, I recently asked my children what are some of my habits that they find hilarious.  Y'all, they are pretty accurate on most of these and they are pretty funny!  I laughed a while as I read them.

Kid Friendly Email Account - A Review

Although we don't allow our children to freely roam the internet there are a few things we would still like them to learn.  Things like how to send/receive emails and proper email etiquette.  In learning that we don't them to be exposed to inappropriate spam mail or have to worry about who they are sending and receiving emails from.  Kids Email helps alleviate a ton of the worrying.  Which is why we were happy to review a one-year subscription to their Kids Email Safe Email for Kids.  This has been a great way for them to continue practicing their keyboarding skills, writing skills, and spelling.  They really enjoyed being able to keep in contact with their grandparents and the grandparents enjoyed it just as much.

PARENTING MADE PRACTICAL - Taming the Lecture Bug and Getting Your Kids to Think Review

Do you get tired of repeating yourself a million times to your kids?  How many times have you had to have a lecture with your kids about the same thing?  Have you ever repeated your self so much that you start feeling like you are the bad person?  Maybe you have fussed so much that you start to feel like maybe what you are fussing about is really not a big deal after all.  I know I am not alone in this.  I was just beginning to think it was part of parenting.  You know, one of those things you have to do until they get older and it finally sticks.  I was tired of nagging and fussing because I didn't want to be that mama.  The one that is always fussing about something.   Being apart of the Homeschool Review Crew has given me so many opportunities to review and be exposed to things that I would not have considered on my own.  Being able to review the Parenting Made Practical book Taming the Lecture Bug and Getting Your Kids to Think and the DVD with the same title was one of those opportunities.  I was happy because I already love to read and I'm tired of fussing and lecturing about the same thing every day.  It's not just tiring it's exhausting!

Parenting Tips for 2018

Parenting.....  It's one of  the most rewarding jobs (my sister hates when I call it a job) there are, yet it can be overwhelming and even hard at times.  I remember being pregnant with my first child, reading every parenting book I could get my hands on, I just knew by the time she was born I was going to be a pro at being a mommy.  Ha!  I remember her crying, me trying to feed her, burp her, sing to her, bounce her, play soothing music, everything the books had told me to do.  She was still crying and so was I by now. What was wrong?  What about the first time she refused food and I tried playing the airplane game, telling her how good it was, even tasting it myself?  What now?  Fast forward now I have four kids.  I have repeatedly asked them to finish their chores. Why do I have to remind them everyday.  Why am I constantly saying things like, "be nice to your brother," "stop throwing that football in the house," " yes you have to eat it" no you can't watch that" I could go on and on forever.  I've come to realize parenting is never ending, consistent reminders are necessary, and grace for both child and parent is a must.  I have now been a parent for almost 15 years, wow that makes me feel old, so I think its ok to share a few tips I've learned along the way.

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND PRAY FOR THEM

When  people do wrong towards us or treat us bad sometimes it's hard to forgive, forget, and continue to love that person.  Before I was saved it was so easy for me  to go off on a person who may have upset me or just stop talking to them  and not care what happened to them after I cut them off.  It's not that easy anymore!  I remember getting so angry at a lady because she always caused drama between me and other family members when she was around and she was so manipulative.  She would always and I do mean always cause problems when she was around.  She was not a person you could just go to and talk calmly with about the problem because she would blow up and go off.  I got so fed up with it that I decided I was not going to speak to her anymore, I would avoid her anytime she was around, I would just basically pretend or try to forget that she existed.  I mean after all that is what you are supposed to do when you  disliked someone that much, right?
