Five Minute Friday: Regret

Today I am joining Kate and her Five Minute Friday Community.  As part of the FMF challenge, I have to write for five minutes.  This Friday the topic is Regret - what is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word regret.  Here I go...

I've made many mistakes in my life and have several things I regret! If I focus on those things all the time I am in bondage.  Why would I let my past hold me in bondage?  Jesus died on the cross so that we wouldn't have to hold on to those sins.  We are forgiven!  However, I am not looking for things to regret just because I know he will forgive me instead I am working hard not to have any regrets I want to live my life bringing glory to Him! So that he can be pleased! So that he gets glory out of the things I do.  You see regrets have a way of taking over your life if, you let them. It's ok to regret doing something cause let be honest we all make mistakes and you should regret making a bad decision.  The thing is you have to learn to know when you are wrong, apologize, ask for forgiveness, deal with the consequences,  and move on from it don't let it consume you because then you become sad and depressed you feel as if you aren't good enough.  So today choose to be free from bondage! Ask for forgiveness and work hard to please Him.  Do not allow yourself to get tangled in the web of regrets.  Look Forward not back!

  1. I agree, regret can be good if it points us to God and his forgiveness, but it is not something to hold onto for too long. I enjoyed reading your post. Your neighbour at FMF #20.
