Routine - Five Minute Friday

It's that time of the week again.  Five Minute Friday also known as FMF.  This weeks word is

ROUTINE.

Routine is something when I would think of it I would think of peace and order.  I mean if you have a good routine down everything should run smoothly, right?

I think when most of us try to get into a good routine we forget to allow time for distractions and life itself, which then cause a freak-out moment, and for some, they become completely stressed out if things aren't going as planned according to their routine.  Life is great when you make time to enjoy it.  It goes by so fast so, I try not to get too caught up in routines.  I've learned to enjoy the moment and go with the flow of life.  Now don't get me wrong I still plan and have a routine of how I would like for things to go but I plan for failure, distractions, and life itself. If I don't plan for these things it will create chaos when life is not going as planned.  So when you are watching all those great morning and night time routine videos just know that their life does not perfectly go like that every day.  Know that your life is not jacked up if your routine is non-existent.  Routines are great but they are not the end all be all.

James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

  1. Enjoyed your perspective--especially recognizing that we will encounter distractions. sometimes the "distractions" are appointments or nudges from the Holy Spirit. I'm visiting from FMF.

  2. "If I don't plan for these things it will create chaos when life is not going as planned" is such a true statement. I sometimes forget and when things don't go as planned, I have a meltdown - not a pretty sight when you are my age :-)
